Every year city departments are required to present a performance report to the Mayor, City Council and citizen stakeholders (Service Level Report). Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the departments discuss their mission, financial inputs, workload outputs, measures of efficiency & effectiveness (including comparisons to other cities & industry norms), results and their issues and concerns for the future.


POCATELLO POLICE DEPARTMENT MISSION


The City of Pocatello Police department provides numerous services to the community, including 24-hour city-wide patrol and criminal investigation. The Pocatello Police Department was the first nationally accredited police department in the state of Idaho and continues to maintain a high level of service to the citizens of the Pocatello community. The Pocatello Police Department is currently accredited by the standards of the Idaho Chief's of Police Association.


To maintain high levels of service to the community the department has deployed close to 90 sworn officers and 35 non-sworn employees. The department answers approximately 29,000 calls for service per year.

D.A.R.E. is Drug Abuse Resistance Education. It is taught in the 5th or 6th grades in Pocatello to prepare our kids against the dangers of drugs and violence. Click here to learn more about the D.A.R.E program.
